Hi there!I’m Jay
An Engineer
A CreativeI design the experience and build the pieces that make it possible.
Well, welcome to
My studio: where an idea moves from concept to system without losing intent.
He thinks through the system before writing the first line.
He turns uncertainty into architecture: defines boundaries, models the hard cases, and leaves the system ready to grow. He’s shipped production systems for years, and he’s studying a master’s in Data Science and AI because he refuses to use a tool he can’t explain.
The same judgment
changes tools.First it understands the intent. Then it decides how it should exist.
He turns intent, context, and detail into experience.
He understands technical language and translates it into an experience people can read, use, and remember. He iterates on concept, hierarchy, interaction, and detail until the complex feels simple. Brand, illustration, and motion shaped the way he understands an interface.
03 / Experience
A career spanning more than two decades across design and engineering.
I started in print, television, and brand systems. The web came later and, with it, interface, product, and increasingly complex systems development. Over the years, my work extended into architecture, platforms, and, more recently, tools and agents built with AI.
Era 01 · 2001 — 2015
Newspaper ads, TV motion graphics, brand systems, magazines, point-of-sale, and exhibition stands.
Televisa · Siglo TV · newsrooms · Tradecorp
+ Creative direction across formats: from print production to a news program’s full visual system, including the set furniture.
Mostly creative work

Era 02 · 2004 — 2017
Client websites and web apps built end to end while the web was changing fast.
Jaycorp Studios, freelance
+ Flash pieces, PHP sites, early CMS attempts, WordPress templates, CakePHP-style structures, heavy jQuery interaction, Vue, AngularJS, and Ember.js.
Creative and engineering, evenly

Era 03 · 2015 — 2019
Rebuilding a travel product’s car-rental vertical, component by component.
Hotwire (Expedia) at Luxoft · Product engineering and university teaching
+ Engineering as a craft: shared components, automated tests, and A/B tests that settle arguments. In parallel, I brought part of that experience into the classroom as a university instructor for mobile app development with React Native.
Mostly engineering work

Era 04 · 2019 — 2021
Multidomain storefronts on top of a high-volume production-printing platform.
Scalable Press
+ Architecture and performance for multitenant storefronts: distributed search with Kafka and Elasticsearch, microservices, and system optimization for products that had to keep working well as traffic, product scope, and the platform grew.
Mostly engineering work

Era 05 · 2021 — now
From a web platform for nine countries to AI-powered support systems.
Rappi
+ Regional-scale web platforms, frontend architecture, and shared systems across multiple teams. Then, support operations automation and agentic AI in production: LLM pipelines, agent workflows, MCP servers, and tools built on top of existing infrastructure.
Mostly engineering work

When judgment carries through the whole process, the idea arrives more intact.

FROM CONCEPT
TO REAL USE.
I can step in while the conversation is still blurry: understand the intent, shape the experience, organize its parts, and build what it needs to work in the hands of real users.
That is what this studio practices: visual clarity, architecture, and execution working from the same intent.
04 / The blog
Studio notes.
Some decisions are worth leaving open: how an interaction was shaped, why a scene exists, what changed when an idea met the browser.
OPENThe studio takes visitors.
If your team needs to turn a complex idea into a clear experience, bring an interface to production, or make better decisions across design, architecture, and AI, we can work together: as part of the team, or as advisory support to unlock a direction.
